Who we are

Claim It Rite Ltd ("we", "us") helps air passengers claim the compensation they are owed under EU Regulation 261/2004, UK261 and similar rules. We are the data controller for the personal data described here.

What we collect

  • Identity and contact details: name, email, phone number, postal address, date of birth.
  • Travel details: booking reference, ticket numbers, flights, seat numbers, the disruption you describe.
  • Documents you upload: boarding passes, booking confirmations, identity documents, receipts, correspondence with the airline.
  • Your electronic signature on the service agreement and the authorization, with the date, time and IP address of signing.
  • Account data if you create one: login email, password (stored hashed), activity on your claims.
  • Messages and documents you exchange with us, and the emails we send you.

Why we use it

  • To assess, prepare, submit and follow your claim with the airline, and to collect and pay out the compensation. This is necessary to perform our contract with you.
  • To contact you about your claim and to answer your questions.
  • To meet our legal obligations, including accounting and the prevention of fraud.
  • To improve our service, based on our legitimate interest, never by selling your data.

Who we share it with

  • The airline concerned and, if needed, national enforcement bodies, courts or alternative dispute resolution schemes.
  • Service providers who act on our instructions: hosting and database, email delivery, flight data providers, document extraction, payment providers.
  • The referring agent, if your claim was submitted through one, limited to the progress of the claim.
  • Authorities when the law requires it.

Some providers are located outside the UK and the EEA. Transfers rely on adequacy decisions or standard contractual clauses.

How long we keep it

Claim files are kept for the duration of the claim and for six years after it closes, to meet accounting rules and to defend legal claims. Account data is kept while the account is open. Unfinished claim forms saved in your browser stay on your device only, for 30 days.

Your rights

You can ask for access to your data, correction, deletion, restriction, portability, and object to processing based on our legitimate interest. You can withdraw an authorization at any time, which may end our ability to pursue the claim. Write to us using the contact page. You may also complain to your data protection authority, in the UK the Information Commissioner's Office.

Security

Data is stored on encrypted infrastructure with access limited to the staff handling your claim. Documents are served through short-lived links. Signatures are stored with their date and origin as evidence.
